We set of early for Nisos Elafonisos 65 miles away. We were bargaining on taking 14 hours so we should get there before dark. There was an option if we needed to to just go as far as Porto Kaio just around Cape Matapan.
But our destination was a small bay called Frangos. Our route took us past the 2nd Cape, Tainarnon (or Matapan). This was the fabled entrance to the underworld, Hades, and despite my Sister in law’s post on Facebook , no you can’t buy pants there.
We arrived at 20:15 and dropped anchor just enough time for an evening dip and shower.

The next day we woke to a Carribean vista and decided to stay another night. We did move further in as the wind was getting up. It was a rolly old night with white horses creeping round the corner of the bay but the scenery made up for it.
